Simple Walk Companion is designed to help users track their walking activity and optionally notify trusted contacts when a walk starts or ends. This privacy policy explains how the app handles user data.

Step and Activity Data

• The app uses device sensors to count steps during a walking session.
• This information is used only within the app to display:
  • Step count
  • Walk duration
  • Walk history
  • Goal progress
• This data is stored locally on the device and is not transmitted to external servers.

Contacts Access

• If the watcher feature is enabled, the app allows the user to select contacts from the device contact list.
• Contacts are used only to:
  • choose watchers
  • allow the user to send SMS notifications when a walk starts or ends
• The app does not store or upload contact information outside the device.

SMS Usage

The app allows users to send SMS messages to selected watchers when:

• a walk starts
• a walk ends

SMS messages are sent only after user action using the device’s default messaging app. The app does not send SMS messages automatically.

Data Storage

All walk data and settings are stored locally on the user's device. The app does not transmit data to external servers.

Data Retention and Deletion

All user data, including walk history, step count, and selected watcher contacts, is stored locally on the user’s device.

The app does not retain any personal data on external servers.

Users have full control over their data and can delete it at any time by:

• Clearing app data from device settings
• Uninstalling the app

Any temporary data used during app functionality (such as preparing SMS messages) is not stored after the action is completed.

Third-Party Services

Simple Walk Companion may display advertisements through third-party ad networks such as:

• AdMob (Google)

These services may collect limited device information to display relevant ads according to their own privacy policies.

Children's Privacy

Simple Walk Companion is not specifically directed toward children under the age of 13.

Security

Since the app does not collect or transmit personal data to external servers, user information remains stored on the user’s device.
